I'll be honest, we came in frustrated and not really expecting much. This was our third choice for a meal and we were in a hurry. That said, we told our waitress that we were in a hurry and she did a great job of getting our food out and brought the bill early so we didn't have to ask for it. I was impressed by the use of local ingredients and everyone in our group really enjoyed their meal. I had low expectations for my Black & Blue Burger, but was pleasantly surprised. I asked for ketchup, but wound up not using it. I'd definitely come back.

We walked down to Blue Corn from our motel and had s fabulous meal. We sat at the bar and Charlie took great care of us. I had the Corn & Chipotle Chowder and my hubby had the Green Chili, both scrumptious and full of New Mexican flavors. Then we had 2 of the combination dinners. Again, full of flavor and way too much food! We could have split one. Now that we're full we decided to check out their Apple Crisp. Warm and served with 2 scoops of ice cream.....great to share. Charlie was an awesome bartender and we were well taken care of. It was fun watching the wait staff at work, they really worked as a team and everyone appeared to know how to keep the customers happy. Loved the evening. We'll stop again next time we're through Santa Fe.

As much as I would like to give this place a higher rating, I just can't and here's why: the service is horrible. It's actually quite sad because the food and the beer is really good here but the service just makes it hard to focus on anything but that. On this particular occasion, I had the chimichanga which comes with red and green chile and all the garnish. To say the least, this was delicious as was the Velo IPA that I drank with it. Did I mention that they brew all their own beers? They also have a kid friendly menu that is really good but a bit steep for a kids meal. I think it was something around 6 or 7 dollars a meal. Now about that service part. It took them around a half hour to get our drinks and meal order. We ordered chips and salsa that never came out and also the waiter never refilled our drinks or asked if I would like another beer (which I did). The food came out fairly quick but other than that the waiter just stunk. He also took his sweet time coming to collect the check and payment. Overall, they have great food and great beer but really need to fix their service.

HORRIBLE, I am from Denver CO, and was looking to have se good cooked New Mexico food. We found a hair in our appetizer, the manager came over did NOT apologize BAD management skills! She wanted to argue and stated our cooks wear hair nets....we asked that she remove the appetizer. Once our food came out there was ANY OTHER LONG BLACK HAIR IN one of the main entrees. Our server was very apologetic as the MANAGER on the evening I'm assuming WITH BLONDE HAIR rolled her eyes and wanted to argue. We got up and left. Very rude. I WOULD not come back or tell anyone about this place....... NO wonder why it was so dead inside. I would recheck the hair nets and retrain the managers on management skills and customer service.

Awesome food at a great price. Fantastic craft beer that has won numerous awards. Wonderful fun servers and a casual but nice atmosphere. What more dose one need in the world.

Not a bad thing on the menu. The beer select of stuff brewed in house is really good, and the service is excellent. The lamb wrap with local get is fantastic. And who could pass up a stuffed sopapilla?!?

Ehhh. Is all I can say. My husband asked for a Captain and the bartender offered Bacardi as they were out of Captain. 'What's the difference?' LoL. A lot honey. Beer was good. Ohhhh. And. Good thing... The bartender cannot make change. Tab came to $11 and we got $13 back from a $20. Oooops.

The Chile Relleno and Cheese Enchiladas were incredible. Loved both the red and green chile. We'll definitely be back for more.

I only tried the food here. It's not anything to write home about, but they serve all the regular New Mexico dishes.

What happened to Blue Corn?!? It used to be pretty decent but it's feeling a little shabby these days. My daughter and I came to share the black and blue burger - consistency one of my favorite burgers in Santa Fe. Tonight the burger was ok but not as good as usual. The fries were barely warm. The brought us new fries "fresh outta the fryer" - they were only slightly warmer and tasted like they had either been sitting under the heat lamp for a while or had been microwaved. The restaurant needs a good scrubbing too - it feels dirty. Where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him???

I love this place. i've eaten their food twice, but each time got exactly the same thing: a bowl of their corn chowder and a bowl of their green chile stew. both are perfection. I'M IN SOUP PERFECTION. the corn chowder is very spicy, just the right amount of kick. if you can't handle your spice, be warned! there's also plenty of TVs for watching the games. the beer is decent, although not particularly noteworthy. for me, it's really those 2 bowls of soup... somebody please ship me a gallon to CA.

I had the three Enchiladas and the wife had a chicken dish, the best about both was the red chili sauce. Once we our order was taken we did not see our server again until he brought out check. NOT IMPRESSED.

My wife and I are camping at Lake Cochiti and came into Santa Fe for a few staples. We spotted the Blue Corn Brewery only the word Brewery was obstructed from our view by trees otherwise we might not have stopped. We were really glad we didn't see "Brewery" because the wait staff and food were excellent! My wife had the lunch enchiladas and I had tamales. More food than we needed but it was delicious. I asked for the red chili sauce but the food didn't need additional heat. If I had one complaint it is that they charge extra for chips and salsa and for the chili sauces. But we are likely to be back for another meal.

Food was decent, but I went for the beer. After seeing that this place won at GABF for it's stout, I wanted to see how good it could be. I got a flight that included the Monk's Mesa (Belgian Blonde), Gold Medal Oatmeal Stout, Rakau IPA and Chocolate Porter. All the beers were just okay, but avoid their IPAs if you're an IPA lover. They're particularly weak. The stout was good, but I've had way too many better American oatmeal stouts to understand how this medaled at GABF. I was also disappointed that the wait staff was pretty clueless about the beers they served. You're a "brewery," educate your staff. If you want great beer in Santa Fe, just visit the Marble taproom instead. If you want great New Mexican food, tons of better option.

Bland in the Land of Enchantment - So many choices in Santa fe for great dining, just keep driving up towards the plaza. Chips and Salsa OK, I didn't try the beer. Chicken Enchiladas - Yo que tú lo olvidaría'' So dry, tasteless, rice had some weird spice and beans the same. The server was a good guy, helpful but it can't make up for the food

I've had a lot better. I'm giving this place a 2 star rather than 1 star simply because their beer is pretty damn good. But after that, the food is really bad. Lets start with the chips and salsa, queso and guacamole. Is it because they have a lot of kids eating here that they can't put some heat in the salsa, this tasted like blended canned tomatoes with a bit of cilantro, no heat, nothing. Hey, give us an option if you are scared of the heat, bland salsa for the kids and then put some serrano in the adult version. Same with the queso dip and guac. For an entree I was wanting some salad so I ordered a taco salad with chicken. The chicken was boiled ??!!?? Never occurred to me to ask if the chicken meat in the taco salad was grilled (like every other place I've been too in my life) or boiled. I think they used the chicken meat left over from making stock but then again I don't think this place would ever make their own stock. The pinto beans tasted like they had been poured out of a can. Just terrible. With so many places of high quality and reasonable pricing in Santa Fe - how does this place even exist ?

The brewery aspect is cool with a nice variety, food was rather bland. I'm talking after 2 trips. Chicken tacos were bland and flavorless ,beans were salty, next trip had the beef sliders (2 chincy) less a 1/4 lb combined. Again not a lot of flavor. Maybe I hit two not so special dishes. Place is nice lots of room and ambiance makes up for rest. Second trip sat in dining area with friends service was lacking. Stay tuned next trip will be the real decision maker for future business.

Had the carne adovada burrito. Wife had Huevos Rancheros. Both were very good! Red chile was medium hot and authentic. The chips and salsa were good as well. The The beer was exceptional! Have been to many breweries, and these are on par with the best of them.

When you go to a place and well, everything just comes together perfectly, then you know that you have reached Yelp nirvana. We picked this place rather quickly not knowing what we were getting ourselves into. I must say I have not been this completely satisfied with a place to eat and drink as long as I can remember. The wait staff are funny, personable and knowledgable. Feels like being served by a personal friend. The beers all have a real quality to them showing that these guys have experience in micro brewing well. I would know, I have been home brewing for 17 years and have been to the best beer places on Earth. Starting with the chips and queso. The chips are thick and tasty, not those thin greasy chips made by some factory in El Paso. These are quality! The queso is spicy, but not too overpowering and the ingredient of Rosemary is one I will be adding from now on. Very distinctive and complimentary. The beers are once again awesome and one called the "scorched Scottish ale" reminds me of the Bamberg Schlenkerla Urbock which only a few knowledgable and lucky Americans have ever been fortunate to try. The burgers are thick, grilled to perfection and are served on freshly baked buns. Exquisite! Apart from some tricky parking and a poor street access this place rocks big time! My wife works in Santa Fe, commuting from Albuquerque daily and even though she doesn't drink beer, this has become a definite lunch stop from now on. I would drive here just to eat at Blue Corn Brewery.

I could have given this place 4 stars if the chef hadn't shown how little he cares about his customers. Mistake 1: I ordered a 10oz beer. The beer was really good, but I didn't realize the crazy premium they charge for the 10oz vs the 16oz. And yet the 4oz is a great deal. My bad, I wasn't paying attention. We ordered the triple chili burger and the green chile stew. Burger very good, although bun a bit too bready. Stew good but a bit one note. Mistake 2: I ordered fries with the burger. The burger came out hot, the fries came out stone cold, not lukewarm, cold. So I asked if they could give me some hot fries. Half a burger later, ooh, I waited a while they must be making up a fresh batch, new fries, STONE COLD. Waiter had no interest in fixing the problem, chef had no interest in making new fries, apparently happier to get rid of a bunch of old fries he had made earlier.

Great beer. I have food poisoning from the crab dip though. I should have not ordered crab dip in New Mexico, but still. Everything else on the menu seemed good.

In sante fe for business. I've gone to this brewery twice this week. Their beers are great their food is good. The blue corn super burrito is huge, and so good. But the service, I came to watch the nba playoffs, but even when I asked politely they refused to put on the games( espn sports enter was on instead) on 3 of 4 tvs. Luckily it was the wiz/bulls series so I didn't care much. I will come back though.

I accidentally ate here twice. After the first nacho experience, I said, "blech" and swore never to return. Then forgetting my oath, did it again. Have you ever been to Casa Bonita in Denver? Notoriously known for the world's worst quality food anywhere - bar none. Blue Corn cafe's nachos come in as a close second. Here's how I know: my nachos had canned nacho cheese sauce hidden in the middle. You can't see it from the outside. You're eating what you unsuspectingly think is a normal plate of nachos, then WHAM! chips turn soggy and overly salty as a luke warm ooze fills your mouth. And I had the pleasure of experiencing this trauma twice. (Too many drugs in college will fry your short term memory.) The vibe is good enough, waiters are okey dokey, and the restaurant itself isn't terrible. But the thought given to the menu and quality of ingredients used in food is lacking. In Santa Fe people expect better. On the positive side, cute little faeries fly around your table during the meal blowing sparkly pixie dust on you. Your hair will shine, your teeth will glimmer, and a literal sparkle can be found in your eye. They even lift the beer to your mouth for you. That's a lie. Faeries don't actually appear. Unless you're still into drugs and all. I'm not eating here ever again and this time, I mean it. UPDATE 5/15: I purposely ate here again without the nachos. Not horrible, but nothing to look forward to. Meh. Bottom line for me, people don't necessarily come here for the food. It must be the beer and ambiance.

Beers were great! Food was good. Unfortunate there was only one server covering inside and outside seating. Everything was an extra charge. Sour cream and guacamole was a $2.75 up charge with tacos. Environment / atmosphere is s sports bar.

Good food in a nice space. I have been a road warrior lately, and it was next to the hotel. ThHe food was quite good. I don't drink, so I can't comment on the alcohol, but my coworker was pretty happy. Staff was great, especially the bartender. He was good and helped us selecte some great entrees.

I have more often visited the downtown location and appreciate the cleanliness and appealing ambiance and feel there are some good food items and beers that are worth returning for. For some reason, in my one visit here, I didn't get the same feel. My waitress was slow to appear and made herself scarce after giving me my burger and beer. Also, the burger, despite being rubbed in red chile, was quite bland and overcooked and overall a disappointment. I do enjoy most of the beers here and like the flat-screen tvs and sports bar arrangment, so overall, this place is worth returning too, but I can't vouch for the food.

Chips and Salsa was killer good but it was NOT complimentary ($4). I had a pint of their house brewed IPA and amber ale and both were very good and reasonable at $4.50 a pint. Food was all very good. Kids had burgers. They smelled great! We also had a combo 1 and combo 4. Enchiladas, tamales, rellanos and tacos were all excellent and served with a nice sized portion of spanish rice and pinto beans (not refried). Service was a little slow to begin with but we were also there for the 4th of July evening rush and they ended up pulling through at the end.

This place was recommended to me by a park ranger at tent rocks, and it's definitely a locals hang out. We did a beer sampler-- I liked the Atalaya Amber Ale best. Food was great! Navajo taco + sopiapillas

We were headed to a show at Santa Fe Sol and wanted to try some local beers before hand, so we were pleased that Blue Corn Brewery was only a few miles away. The double IPA was great. I was surprised that there was a limit of 2, as it only had 8% ABV. In Denver you're allowed to order as many DIPAs as you want, no questions asked. Regardless, it was on par with other full-bodied DIPAs. Hoppy and flavorful. I got the Farmer's Market Salad for dinner and it might have been the freshest salad I've ever had. It was tossed in a Pinon vinaigrette, which I was hoping wouldn't overpower the salad, and it didn't. They only use veggies that are all local and in-season, which is awesome. Mine had lots of purple and green broccoflower, cucumbers, and radishes- sooo delicious. I added the grilled steak to it and it was perfectly done.

This place was recommended by hotel. We forgot to use the 5 off coupon but all in all okay. Ordered my burger well done, yes I am that guy, came out pink. I must have pissed off chef Ramsey but it was good.

Beer was the good. Food was not! Chicken wings came out cold and wereway too fatty, and celery was slimy. Queso was really really thick and bland, no spice at all!

I'm from Los Angeles and I was in town to do some training. The locals recommended Blue Corn for lunch . Yesterday I had the Green Chili, Bacon Mac and Cheese. I liked it so much I went back for lunch today. Today I had the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. Maybe I'm not used to this kind of food, but both dishes were delicious. The way they use chili's here is awesome. I also had a few beers - the in-house amber ale - very good. They also had lots of TV's and apparently did the sports bar thing on the weekends. Service was good. Not much else to say.

Great food! The green chile stew and heirloom tomatoes were sooo delicious! The atmosphere was very nice and we had a great time! Although we had wine, it was still a good choice all the way around. You must try the red chile chips-- AMAZING!!

I got introduced to to Blue Corn for the first time last year at the NM IPA Challenge (which they won). I immediately stopped here to get a growler of their winning IPA. I've been back a couple times since and always had a good experience. Their beer turns over fairly fast, though they have some standard members on their menu pretty much all the time. The bar is nice, with good TVs for the sports enthusiasts. Definitely one of my go-to places in Santa Fe.

Bar service was great; we were offered samples with a smile to make sure we were happy with our beer selection. We were very happy with the wheat and double IPA. The bartender helped me choose between two entries; he was spot on with the salmon. It was crusted, but the crust was not salty, yeah! It must have kept the moister trapped in the salmon; the whole filet was evenly cooked. I liked that the pesto topping had mint in it...at least I kept tasting it to see if there was really mint in there; it was so slight. I had the same feeling with fennel in the risotto; was it in there or not? Very interesting. The grilled veggies were fresh and not drowning in oil, lightly seasoned to let the veggies shine. Hubby got chili rellenos (sp?); the battered and deep fried pepper stuffed with cheese was a bit heavy (what else would I expect?!), but when scooped up with the beans (salty) and mexican rice (bland), you could create a perfectly balanced bite. Since it was the hubby's birthday, the bartender granted us a free dessert. When the hubby couldn't decide, we asked the bartender to pick one of the top two and surprise us. He was such a good sport in playing with us. Thanks for a great night!

Lunch included Blue Corn Taco for Sarah and I had the Green Chili Stew. The Tacos were good and the Stew was not as good as I have had at other places. Service was good. Prices were ok, but we did have to pay for chips and salsa, which the salsa was very good.

My husband and I have eaten here a few times, mostly in the bar area. Each time, service was horrible, I unfortunately forget the server's name we somehow ended up with both times, but he spent 90% (not exaggerating) of the time we were in the restaurant standing at the bar either using his cell phone (while hiding it in a menu) or seemingly flirting with the bar tender. I tried to make eye contact or flag him down repeatedly to order another drink as I finished my beer while my husband still had half his flight to finish. No luck. He seemed to be the only server at the time, but we occupied one of the three tables of customers in the bar at the time, so it's not like he was busy. However, the beer was amazing and the food was great, especially the queso and chips appetizer. I recommend the flights as you get to taste all their offerings. The last time we went to Blue Corn Brewery, we sat in the main restaurant. The service was 10 times better. The server was attentive, but not annoying. She was on top of our drink orders and in general seemed more interested in making the customer happy. I recommend eating in the dining room if you go here, I will not be in the bar area again. If I only rated our experience from eating in the mainrestaurant, I would have given 4 stars.

I used to live in Santa Fe, came here a few times and wasn't impressed. While visiting, we came here with friends. Wasn't impressed. To pay $8.50 for three very small pieces of tomato with three very small pieces of mozarella in what is trying to pass for a Caprese salad? No way. We asked for separate checks, and the waitress decided to add the shared appetizer to ours. And we hadn't even eaten any of it. She just "picked us at random". Service is lackluster. Completely unimpressed. There are way better options in Santa Fe. Don't bother.

We went for dinner one night and as we've done before for over 5 years...sat ourselves in the bar area. We were there ten minutes and the waitresses kept walking by our table completely ignoring us. I finally went up to the hostess stand to inquire about why we were not being served. Apparently, they had changed their policy to include hostess seating in the bar. Quite a surprise to regular patrons. The least they could have done was greeted us and updated us on the new policy. We left and went to a nearby restaurant. The beer is good and so is the food....too bad we weren't able to enjoy it that night. I guess the wait staff are making enough money and the brewery doesn't feel they need to keep customers.

We were a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but so glad we gave it a try. The service was awesome, prices reasonable, portions more than generous, and the food tasted great! What more could you ask for? We were seated promptly, our waitress brought several samples of beer to help us make our choices, and she cheerfully came back when we took our time selecting our entrees. My husband ordered the Combo #1, which included a beef taco, chicken enchilada, chili relleno, rice and pinto beans with Christmas Tree sauce (both red and green chili on top). Every bite brought out another sigh of delight. I ordered the Carne Adovado which is kind of a pork with a tasty red chili sauce. Delicious! I couldn't finish my whole plate and had to leave most of my pinto beans and rice, but I devoured every bite of the adovado! My hubby is a craft brewer and pretty picky about his beer, but their oatmeal stout hit the spot for him. I enjoyed their amber ale. We would definitely return to the Blue Corn Cafe and Brewery if our travels brought us back to Santa Fe.

I have eaten here twice now and for all the food choices in Santa Fe, I have left Blue Corn both times thinking the food was too spicy and overpriced. They also don't care to tell you until you receive the bill that they charge extra for a frozen margarita as opposed to on the rocks. The manager did remove the extra charge, but personally, I never appreciate restaurants that appears to try to take advantage of their customers. I gave Blue Corn a second chance this trip, and I will say I should have gone somewhere else...

My family ordered 3 entrees - 2 of No.1 combo plates and the prime rib, plus 1 soda and 1 lemonade. The No. 1 combo is supposedly their most popular items (chicken enchilada, crispy beef taco, child relleno). I think I've had frozen entrees that were better executed. Prime Rib was no such thing and dry & chewy. If you like Taco Bell, then maybe you might like this place - maybe. Food is also horribly overpriced. Our tab was $70. Maybe folks just don't notice the bad food & fat tab after a few strong brews. Upside is that server was very nice and friendly. Bad food was not her fault.

I really enjoy this place, great service and great food. I love the unique menu items such as the Prickly Pear Iced Tea and Fried Pickles. I've been in about 5 times, each time ordering a different dish and haven't been disappointed!

If I could have given it no stars I would have. We went there on a mid Friday afternoon, the place was dead. We sat at the bar as the bartender took her time filling growlers and ignoring us. She finally came over and took our order, went to the taps and filled a pint...and took it to someone else. Then she came toward us and walked right by us to take someone else's order. We left. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it in my life.

Wednesday evening. Server named TJ. Great service. Nice IPA. Pretty good food. Judy had the Green Chile Stew: nice heat and depth. I had combo #1 where the chicken enchilada starred rowed by vg chile relleno. Food 3 stars. Service 5 stars. TJ explained everything and hopped to get drinks and food.

Fours were granted before we got through the door. Red, green or Christmas, 12 months a year. This is a brew pub/restaurant. It's all about sampling, warm and fuzzy camaderie and food. I can't address the brew part. This is a comfortable place for warm, fuzzy camaderie. My New Mexico host, hearing about my Yelp*ing habits, gave it a 4 in the parking lot. While we enjoyed our camaraderie, I ordered chiles relleno. New Mexico green chile stuffed with local homemade goat cheese, dipped in batter and deep fried. These vary region to region. I like mine light and fluffy thickly batterered. Everything came out plated nicely. I never put That in notes, so it was nice looking. Mine were moderately New Mexico hot. The cheese was fine. But somewhere along the line, maybe in the reheating/cheese melting mine got a crust of blackened batter and cheese on the stem ends. Really tough and chewey, some inedible. The rice and beans were very good. Beans regular tasting, not spiced, and the rice with the New Mexican flavor I love, flavors I can't place yet. Very good. A five for hospitality and hanging out, a three for the food. Red and green refer to chile. Christmas is a clever combination of both. I'll try again another time.

Blue Corn - get a grip and get your act together. If I could rate 0 stars I would. This place has been non stop disappointment the past few times I've been here. Tonight I had a small side salad with some roasted corn soup. The salad was was fine, but the ranch dressing was overly watered down. Stop being so cheap and make a decent ranch dressing. Maybe next time I'll just bring a bottle of my own. The roasted corn soup is nothing more than last nights queso dip with canned sweet corn and cayenne pepper. It looked like it was starting to separate and get gritty. Blue Corn needs to get a grip and fix their food. I wouldn't feed this slop to my worst enemy.

Perhaps we caught Blue Corn on an off night, but last night no one there seemed to know what they were doing. The food was terrible, with the vegetable side to my entree forgotten. Later, our waiter told us that he'd forgotten us when we had to ask for the check. We won't be back.

Came here on vacation since it was in walking distance of my hotel. They have 2 patios and one was empty, so it was nice to sit outside in peace by ourselves. Too bad our waiter was rude and didn't want to serve us. A couple of times he poked his head out to ask if we were ok and started walking back into the door before even waiting to hear our answer. I ordered the tacos. The beef was great but I didn't eat the chicken since it used dark meat (?!). Never seen that in a taco before! The margarita and beers were probably the best part, but still nothing special.

I ordered the Fish and Chips with the belief I ordered from the lunch menu, since this was the page that was presented to us when we were handed the menu. Most restaurants do not serve lunch at 2.30pm but I thought that every place has their own way of doing things. The lunch price for the Fish and Chips was $10.50, but when we were presented the bill we were billed for the regular price, which is $12.50. I asked the waiter about this and he said he was sorry but made no effort to please me. It was just $2, plus I ordered water and there wasn't anything wrong with what I got so I decided not to make a big deal out of it. If you are out for Fish and Chips, I can recommend this place. My wife ordered a side salad with a cilantro vinaigrette on the side. She got a lot of "leaf material" but I am sad to say that it did not look fresh nor did it taste fresh. This was aside from the two tomato slices which both looked and tasted delicious. The salad looked as if it once had been bagged and unfortunately, this seems to be the standard in Santa Fe regardless of where you are going in the $$ price range. She also ordered a Green Chile stew, which was ok. She said the chile masked the other ingredients a lot but I think she enjoyed it (more than the side salad I think). The staff was nice but I am sad to say not very caring. This is exemplified through the way he took my complaint about the price. Even though $2 is not a big deal the lower price is what was presented to me and I would expect to see that on the bill. The Cerillos location maybe isn't the best either. I have been to both this one and to the one in downtown Santa Fe and you really get more atmosphere and more of a quaint feeling at the downtown location. Would I go here again? Yes, I would. Would I order the same thing again? Yes, I probably would. Would I look twice at the menu to figure out if I am getting a high or a lower price? I definitely would. A fun thing is that they also feature drinks based of the very local (to this location) Santa Fe distillery. If you are in town to try out local spirits, this might be something for you!

Good atmosphere, good service and good food. Came here with the family after a strenuous hike up Tent Rock so I came with an appetite. The tamales are good as well as the enchiladas. Verde sauce over all for me. The hand crafted 40K Honey Wheat Ale washed everything down in a refreshing way.

The food was very average. There are so many great places to eat that I probably wouldn't come back. I think the place is good for beer, but I'm not a beer fan. I ordered a Mojitarita that was a special. it took them a while to bring me the drink. The waiter came by a couple of times to tell me they are trying to read up on how to make one. I was getting a little scared. When I finally got it, it tasted sickening sweet and I couldn't taste any alcohol at all. I told them it needed more alcohol and they put in another shot of tequila. It got better. The service is great though.

We were visiting in the area and this restaurant was within walking distance from where we were staying, the food was just ok, and the atmosphere was sadly lacking, seemed more like being in a cafeteria. Beer was good and waiter was very nice.

First of all, the service at this place SUCKS. It seriously is one of the most piss-poor dining experiences I have had in a very long time, possibly ever. Let me start this by saying that our primary reason for coming here was because they had the most adequate TV's to watch a football game that were reasonably close. Unfortunately, that is about all they had. We arrived on a Thursday night and took a 6-top in a TOTALLY empty bar. There were literally 1 or 2 other people in the room. It took a solid 5 minutes for any of the wait staff (none of which were remotely busy) to acknowledge us or even bring water. Strike one. We ordered drinks, an the bartender was pretty much the only staff member that did anything even remotely fast. Margaritas were fine, but nothing to fuss about. We were told a bit about the place while we ordered drinks, and our waitress informed us that the owner's wife had a big party coming in this same evening. I should have seen the red flag then and there. Staff was standing around everywhere, so I threw caution to the wind. Over the next 2 hours, I witnessed almost every failure and SNAFU that any respectable food establishment can commit. Slow ass service on drinks? Done and done. Want your water refilled more than once while you eat dinner? F%*king forget about it in this joint. I don't think she noticed every water glass on the table was totally empty when she finally cleared it. But none of that took place til she finished counting her tips from the owner's wife's party. Entrees: Cobb salad, ok if you don't like fresh greens, or bacon that resembles something that might have been prepared when it was ordered. Outside of that, they know how to hard boil an egg. Tortilla burger came out just above warm, not piping hot as it should. 15 minutes later, a hot one came out of the kitchen. Better late than never. I ordered green chile Mac and cheese, and I will say it was pretty good. Pasta wasn't mushy and sauce had good flavor and heat. This was the only entree that was truly right. After we had obviously finished our entrees, they sat with our empty water glasses on the table for a good 30 minutes before the server even noticed we were trying to get her attention. A swift 15 minutes later, we were given our check which she had kindly already added 18% tip to, despite obvious hiccups throughout the meal. I was dumbfounded. Either this was her first night, or she was the most incompetent server under the sun. I am not very hard to please when it comes to food service, but this place is an embarrassment. It's a massive space, with plenty of staff doing nothing, and yet the restaurant nor the bar never got busy except for the owner's wife's group. Now it's very clear why. Don't come here. You will leave feeling nothing but frustration. This place is garbage.

This isn't restaurant-quality food. I ordered a burrito and the sauce obviously came out of a can - the same kind you can buy at the store. The rice came from a box - again like the kind you get at the store. It's also more expensive than much better meals elsewhere. The beer must be the main draw because the place was fairly crowded. I was driving that night so I can't attest.

Good beer but...the bar room service is terrible. Waiter was polite but waiting 10 minutes for a beer is not acceptable. The couple next to us had less patience than us and walked out. After we asked for our check he set two tables. Wake up Blue Corn, customer service is #1. And thats no bull.

I was excited to find a brew-pub in Santa Fe, but was disappointed at Blue Corn. The beer was meh, the service even less and the food was bland. I have no plans to return if I visit Santa Fe again.

Great place for lunch--we didn't try the brews. We had blue corn tortillas with "calabacitas" which is zucchini. The flavor never let up, fresh and delicious. I may never have meat in a taco ever again. It was that good. The beans and rice side wasn't bad either. One of our party had enchiladas with green chili and pronounced them excellent. The beverages are very good--there is an ice tea spiked (pun intended) with prickly pear cactus fruit. This gives it a slightly watermelony-peachy taste and you don't need sweetener. There is home brewed root beer as well. The lunch specials are well priced and our service was cheerful and attentive; my tea glass was kept full. The food was hot. We were quite pleased.

I had interesting service at the bar and tried 2 beers, the Lokal Weizein and the Gold Medal Oatmeal Stout. The Lokal was fine, not great and the Oatmeal was pretty good. I would have liked them colder, especially the Lokal...it was hardly cold. The bartender picked up my drinks for some reason which was a nice surprise and garnered a nice tip...

We've been going to the Blue Corn since it opened. In fact, we even celebrated an occasion there with fifteen guests once. The Blue Corn has never offered what I consider to be delicious food, but it wasn't bad for most of these years. Last night however was the final visit for us. Our take-out from the Blue Corn was easily the greasiest meal ever presented to me in my entire life (and I've eaten many fast food meals so I do have a large frame of reference). We could even SEE pools of oil in my husband's meal. I ate about half of mine because I was starving; today I feel a layer of fat between my normal fat and my skin. It feels awful.

Came back to this place after visiting in 2007. Despite all the average to low reviews. We still love the green chile stew (best I have had anywhere) and number one combination plate. The beers here are nothing special.

Went here for the first time earlier this week while waiting for our tires to get rotated. We had: IPA- AWESOME- lots of cascade hops makes this IPA floral on the front end and smooth drinking on the finish- next time I'm going to get a growler of this one for $8- great deal for 4 pints Brown- good drinking beer, solid and malty Stout- hubby reported same as above, good, not great We also had Guacamole, a spinach salad (overdressed, darn it I always forget to tell them to put it on the side), chili rellenos, and a quesadilla for little girl Bella- These were average fare, generous portions. Total bill with 20% tip was $52, which is a good deal for that much food. Kudos to the hostess for getting us a highchair quickly- we sat in the bar so our toddler wouldn't be interrupting meals and that worked out great. The bar was clean and spacious. They have the Eagles and Dallas game this Sunday night, I think we will be back here soon.

Blue Corn-Plaza location......this place has been consistently HOT, HOT, HOT! Do not come here unless you are ready for hot spicy food. The beers are always good and the sangria's. Whenever we are in Santa Fe we always stop here for the grilled corn & chipotle soup and the green chili stew. Come early so you get hot soup/stew ....we got there late and it was warm...had to send it back. Our waiter David was awesome!!! The food here has always been great....which is why we always recommend to friends and family. Ask for David in the Plaza location.

Nice place with a fun, low-key atmosphere. I have always been a fan of breweries, and this one is great. I enjoyed their 24K wheat beer, but the selection is a treat to browse. A word of caution: the food is spicy! I'm not big on spice, so I kept drinking water to keep the heat down. If, however, you're a fan of spicy treats, you'll be in hog heaven. The servers are polite, fun, and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend stopping by the Blue Corn Cafe.

Wow! Unbelievable ribs. This place was sensational. I loved the food, the service, the crowd, the feel. As importantly, reasonably priced and great music. I do not eat ribs very often...When I do, I eat at the the Blue Corn...stay hungry my friend.

I used to live very near Santa Fe and I ate here frequently. Contrary to many of the reviews, I thought they consistently offered higher quality food and better service than most of the other restaurants in town, including the ones which are more than twice as expensive. Perhaps this is because I ordered the dishes which made them famous? Their Grilled Corn & Chipolte Soup is so good that I actually bought a cookbook from them so I could make it at home. Their Green Chili Stew and Green Chili & Cheese Tamales are also extremely good. More importantly, I would say hands down they have the best Carne Adovada I've ever had, which says a lot as I make it myself and have had it in restaurants all over New Mexico and Colorado. Couple this with excellent beer and an nice drink menu and I would say that this is a place you should visit while in Santa Fe. On a final note: After moving back to Colorado I discovered I had misplaced my Blue Corn Cafe cookbook. I miss their food so much that I ordered another one online. I'm looking forward to making their carne adovada.

This used to be a great place for food and good fun, but the menu has taken a dive recently and the atmosphere feels dated and confused. With an ample bar area and several large screen TVs you'd think it was a sports bar. However just on the other side of the restaurant there is a dining area, for those of you who find football/UFC to be something for children or those with brain damage. And never the twain shall meet! because if you're enjoying you're football or fighting and you've had a pint or two then you tend to get rowdy and shout at the TV, who doesn't ?! But you can't truly enjoy it because all the people in the dining area give you dirty looks for screaming "Crush his ****ing skull!" or something else that resembles enjoying yourself. The same goes for the people in the dining room, i'll tell you right now, if you have kids don't go there on a night when there's a football game unless you want them to receive an AP class in bilingual cussing. During the off season it's not as bad, but there always seems to be, "that one guy" who just won't shut the hell up, and you realize that you're paying to sit and listen to some idiot droll on about "I coulda caught that pass in college" instead of being able to listen to your wife/husband/friend/child/grandma or whoever. Santa Fe is a growing place for micro brews, and what is so often the case in Santa Fe, the owners of Blue Corn are relying on the fact that people in New Mexico drink way too much, and then order their food. Which is why Blue Corn can get away with sub par fare. This is not to say that the restaurant is dirty or the service is bad, its all just mediocre. It's as if the staff looked at everything on the menu and said, "that'll do". Once upon a time, Blue Corn was the only place on that side of town to get something to eat that wasn't exclusively mexican, but that's changed. There are more options in that area now and if Blue Corn wants to continue to attract customers they need to rethink their menu and start trying some new stuff because "that'll do" just wont cut it.

Stopped by here twice for drinks, beer and football. Good service and decent food. Large variety of food available along with 5 TV's in the bar area. Portions were big and the hand crafted beer was great. Drinks were a little on the weak side one day but good the other. If you are looking for a good sports bar in Santa Fe try them.

I'm always a fan of brew-pub/restaurants, and this place is pretty good. It's a nice space to eat or hang out in, the service is good, the food is good and the beers are decent. For someone who travels a lot, it's always nice to see an establishment like this because it means you don't have to end up at some chain restaurant that has predictable options. Brew-pubs are especially cool because that means you get to try a hyper-local beer. Although places like this often produce less-than-inspiring brews, every now and then you find a jewel, and that makes it fun. I got the cobb salad which proved to be more than enough of a meal with chicken and bacon and cheese and a bunch of other things that probably negate any possible benefits of eating a salad. It was good, though not great. I enjoyed almost the whole bowl. The beer is cool, but again not amazing. I do like that they provide such a large variety compared to similar restaurants. I tried the nut brown ale and it more or less tasted a hybrid of Newcastle and Smithwick's. My coworker tried the stout and said it bore some resemblance to Guinness. Either way, if you're in the neighborhood, this place is definitely worth a try.

This place still kinda sucks after all these years. I mean, the food is totally edible, it's just that there are SOOOO many better places to eat in Santa Fe. I will state that the green chile was nice and hot when I went last a few weeks ago. They do brew some decent beers and I will give them that too. I just can't imagine choosing Blue Corn instead of La Choza, Posas, The Burrito Spot, Tia Sophias...and on and on. I suppose the convenient location of NOT being downtown is a plus, but you still have to eat the food. Long story long, if you are going to eat at ANY Blue Corn, eat at this Blue Corn instead of the one in Plaza Mercado because if you are downtown, you really have no excuse to eat this lame New Mexican food.

O.K. I have to say that I'm a fan, but DON'T get the fish and chips. My husband....why does he insist on getting seafood at a New Mexican food establishment? Anyway, it was bland and soggy. Accompanied by bland coleslaw and soggy french fries. He hated my drink--Mint Bourbon--and I hated his--Watermelon Long Island Tea. He said mine was too minty and bourbony, and I say that his was TOO sweet!!! Loved the chicken enchilada and chicken blue corn taco.

I really enjoyed this place. I was visiting from out of town and the spices were very different and delicious. The service was great, even though we were in an emptier section close to close, and the beer list was good. I enjoyed the atmosphere and felt it was very reasonably priced.

I dined at the location on Cerillos Road for the first time last week, and the experience was outstanding. Despite some of the other recent reviews, I've consistently liked the dishes I've ordered at both of the Blue Corn restaurants in Santa Fe. The last time I visited, I ordered chicken fajitas (which were delicious), a salad with a special regional dressing and prickly pear iced tea. In more than 5 visits to the Blue Corn restaurants, service from the staff has always been friendly and casual. For example, I told the server that I wanted to take my time eating my fajitas, and the server had no problem permitting me to do so. While I was eating, he checked in a couple of times with me, to make sure that everything was going OK (but he never rushed me). I found that to be an especially nice touch. I also wasn't required to dine at the bar, even though I was traveling alone. For all of these reasons, Blue Corn has earned my highest rating.

I had lunch here and it was good.I had blue corn tacos with chicken .The one complaint was that there was a side of salsa that was ice cold , hence unusable.Pretty good if unexceptional beer .The price was excellent.I think I understand what some of the negative comments are about.Yes , if you are looking for New Mexico food you can do better but I wouldn't mind having this place down the street from me.

I've been going to Blue Corn Brewery since the late 1990's. The owner is the same now as it was back then. Of course staff has changed, but the menu hasn't changed much. Me and my son order the Nachos de la Casa each time we go with chicken and jalapenos on the side. Ive had their crab dip, their cobb salad to name just a few and the food is always good and always consistent. The service is good and the atmosphere is top-drawer. I recommend this place highly.

Arrived in Santa Fe on a Friday evening and asked the hotel desk where to eat that was close: Applebee's or Blue Corn Brewery. Checked the menu on line and it looked good. The cafe was very busy but we were seated on the patio immediately. Unfortunately, that was the last good thing that happened. Our server was stretched too thin: He apologized for not being attentive, but it took too long to order, get our meals, bring the check, no water refills, etc. We ordered two "specialties": grilled steak, trout, and two glasses of wine. My wine was a Rancho Zabaco Zin; an under $15 bottle in a grocery store. The pour was barely 4 oz. You do the math - they were getting six glasses out of a bottle and charging $7/glass. I understand doubling the price in a restaurant, but please. I know they're specializing in beer, but not everyone wants to drink beer with their trout or steak. Although the steak and trout were quite good, the grilled veggies were swimming in oil/grease. Smashed potatoes and corn fritters were so-so. These were $15.99 single plate meals. Relatively inexpensive in a good restaurant, but not so in a brew pub. In hindsight, it was probably a mistake to order entrees that require a bit of extra care during such a busy evening. Just know that the kitchen and wait staff may not be able to give you what you're paying for on a busy Friday night.

Beer: Fair to Good Food: Good Here's the deal with the Blue Corn's food: It's a lot like a chain restaurant, in that they cook their food exactly the same at both locations. I believe that the owners had some plans to expand the restaurant. That would explain the food's mediocrity. What I do like about Blue Corn is that it's possible to eat semi-heatlhy. Their fajitas are nice in that they do not come out swimming in a vat of grease like most other places. The blue corn enchiladas are decent as well. I really wish the brewmaster would experiment and take more risks with the usual beers. There is typically a special brew available and those are usually very good. If they still have any left, I recommend trying them. They are delicious. Avoid this place on Monday nights during football season as the bar is extremely loud. So loud, in fact, that even the back of the restaurant is not safe from all the war hoots.

Blue Corn Cafe is my go to place for a cold margarita in Santa Fe. You have your choice of the many and various tequilas gold or silver and you don't have to specify on the rocks. A bowl of the grilled corn and chipotle soup is a must. I was most impressed with the tamale in my green chili cheese combo. It was the best tamale I've had to date. Sadly, the sopapillas were not as great. Too big, one was too greasy and the other undercooked.

We sat there for ten minutes waiting for service......I started off ordering a coke. I got it and tasted it and it tasted like Pepsi- after five minutes I spotted my waitperson...and asked him if this was coke or pepsi....He said Pepsi I said take it away and bring me water ( no apologies were offered).... I ordered the fish n chips (now how could you go wrong with that?) the breading was like what you would get on a corn dog and the fish had no flavor...coulda been generic protein matter.....the onion rings tho creatively large, were greasy and not particularly appetizing....I told the wait person of my concern and he said not a word and took the plate away when I indicated I wasn't eating any more of it....My partner's chicken fajitas: the chicken was dry and over cooked, the tortillas were gummy.....(not fresh).....when the wait person came back with the bill he did not take the fish off....so I said I wasn't coming back....again he walked away not saying one word..

Wanted to post twice but yelp wouldn't let me. Five Stars: Went here the night of 12/6 with a party of 12+ people. The food was great, the server was great, etc. Thought that was their standard. Zero Stars: Went back on 12/19 for lunch because of the positive experience on the 6th. Food was still great. Ordered 2 waters since I drink a lot of water and didn't want the server to have to run to keep it filled up. Got 1 water. Took forever for a refill. Tried to help him out up front but... Asked for refill and a beer. They are a brewery. 20 minutes later asked for the beer again. He forgot. Realized he hadn't brought the appetizer, Chips and Salsa and Queso. Brought the chips and salsa. No queso. Still no beer. Finally, the beer. We decided the queso was not coming. Ate the food, which was great, and left. Server was horrible. I hope you don't get the same one we had this time.

Used to be one of my regular dinner spots when visiting Santa Fe, but this last time I was less impressed by the service, atmosphere and food. Huge portions, but quantity doesn't equal quality. We had to wait awhile to get in. I'm 27 and my driver's license had expired a week earlier but I hadn't been able to get it renewed, so they refused to serve me alcohol (my 29-yr-old boyfriend even got carded, and we both look well over 21, so they're pretty serious). After talking to the manager, though, they gave us a 25% discount because of the situation, and the server was very polite and attentive. Anyway, I tried my friends' beers and they were quite good. I like wheat beers, and I wasn't that impressed by theirs, but try the OATMEAL STOUT. It is absolutely delicious! Noisy, unexciting atmosphere - there was a game on in the bar, and the noise came into the dining area, so not great for chatting.

Curiously, at the time it did not occur to me to order another! I met up with some co-workers at the Blue Corn, after being on a job for a couple of weeks. Sadly I watched a woman stumble towards the door after being WAY WAY over served. Picture those cartoons where Jerry the mouse falls into a bottle of wine in an attempt to get away from Tom. Fear not, I planned to snatch her keys from her in the parking lot, or another chivalrous deed worthy of song, but alas, she stumbled into five of New Mexico's finest in the lobby waiting on a table. (Three of them went on to dinner). As she was being arrested IN THE BAR, it did not occur to me to order another drink. Ten minuets later as my party tried to order another round, we were informed by our hostess that there was a three drink maximum. Clearly I must have stood out as a non-local, to which, a secret handshake allows you to imbibe all you can. Had I known... The beer was really good, (the three I had) i work at a micro brewery in AZ, and know enough about beer to know what I like doesn't really matter. Kudos to our no-nonsense waitress for iron clad enforcement "the rules". The bartenders however, should be fired.

Food was ok but service was disgusting. The entrees came out right after the chips and dips appetizer ($10). The girl that brought our food couldn't care less - she just spun around and left. Of course our waiter wasn't around and didn't come back till we were almost done. So basically we wasted a $10 appetizer so we could eat our entree while it was still hot. I can't believe how little interest the staff had in providing at least a modicum of customer service. We won't be back!

A great little restaurant in downtown Santa Fe. They have a wide selection of food menu options and a pleasant dining environment. I have never sampled their beer selection but the margaritas are good. All the food I have ever had here has tasted great. Just make sure you are prepared for the southwest flavor as it can be quite spicy.

In the words of a notable former NetJets pilot, "It is what it is." The Blue Corn Cafe and Brewery is located near the hotel that I was staying at. Its close proximity made it worth a try. The first thing I noticed was the highly polished copper bar. Very cool. First order of business was to order a pint of the bitter. I had the IPA and my partner went with the stout. I must admit that the IPA was pretty good. Not too hoppy as some brewers tend to make their IPAs. My buddy liked his stout as well. We ordered some guacamole and chips to start. Frankly, the guacamole sucked. The avocado was fresh enough, but the recipe was lacking in everything else. The salsa that it came with was just ok. I had the Carne Adovada which is a simmered pork dish. It was actually pretty tasty. The one down side was that the corn tortilla they brought me were old and stale. They did however, take them back and bring me some fresh ones when I sounded them about it. It wasn't great, but it was good enough to go back again sometime.

Well what can I say....not very good at all. I had a warm IPA would have been good if it was cold. Had fish and chips. Chips were old and soggy. Fish was over cooked and rubbery. Service was terrible poor dude got 2.00 from me and was lucky to get that much. Spent way too much for a really bad meal I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Compared to a couple if years ago, the beer has improved considerably. The green chile cheeseburger may be one of the best I've had in Santa Fe. Of course, it is a sports bar, so it is very, very loud in the bar area.

Great IPA and my family of 3 had meals that were excellent. My Chili Rellenos were tasty and the pinto beans were spicy and homemade -- still BEANS instead of that canned pasty stuff! My husband had some pork green chili that we all ended up sharing -- it was so good. Just spicy enough to get the tear ducts working but not painfully spicy. Our son had steak Fajitas with fresh tortillas - a big portion - and he ate every last bite. We will come back to the Blue Corn Cafe the next time we are in Santa Fe!

We were expecting great food and services but the services was very poor no refills on water or beer. Rude waiter that when ask a question was i not given the opportunity to ask another. I am sure it might just be the waiter but i would not go back to this restaurant. Very disappointed!!! On a positive note the food was decent.

While our first visit was worth 5, or second was a 1. ***FOOD ALLERGY WARNING*** We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday, 4 adults and a 1 year old, and it was obvious that the dinner rush had not yet begun. We were taken to a cozy table for four. Since there were plenty of booths open I asked for a booth instead. The hostess informed me that for fire safety reasons they are not allowed to put a highchair at the end of a booth. I gestured to the only two booths in the restaurant that were occupied -- both contained two adults and a highchair at the end. ???! She sighed, and asked if we wanted her to check with the manager. Yes, please. More sighing. The answer from the manager, she told us, came back no. Okay... I apologized and explained that not only is my baby at the grabby stage where he will attempt to dump everything on the floor within reach, but that he has food allergies. Sticking him on the hard corner where he could reach two people's plates was going to be miserable for everyone. (I would have felt really bad about this had the restaurant been busy, but it was early and very few tables were even taken.) Now the hostess was really not liking us, and made sure we knew it. She lead us into the mostly empty dining room and had us watch while she made a big ordeal of sloooowly expanding a table, dumping the 5 of us to stand next to a couple already eating. Awkward. We would have been happy to wait in reception and not bothered anyone else. Again, our first visit was a 5, so I figured now that we were seated all would be well. Along with my meal I ordered a side caesar salad without pinon nuts, as my son is allergic. The salad that came out had nuts, and as luck would have it I had no idea until the guy delivering it tripped and the nuts went flying, the salad landing on mainly on me and in my open purse. My son was fine, but I found it worrisome after saying "My son has tree nut allergies, so no pinon on the salad, please." The iced tea I ordered with my meal and asked for twice more never came, but it was on the bill. Also on the bill was the $1.50 side salad upcharge for the caesar. I asked for the tea to be taken off since I'd never received it, it was without question, and mentioned the salad accident. Our waitress had no idea, but taking our order and bringing us the bill were the only times we had contact with her. She took the salad off as well, and said the manager would reimburse any dry cleaning expenses. Food allergies, especially those which are known to trigger anaphylaxis in extreme cases, can be deadly. While I can write off the rest as a series of unfortunate events and bad luck I didn't feel like the food allergy message was received. Taking off a buck fifty and offering to reimburse dry cleaning is nice but not the point.

This is one my usual dinner stops when I come back to Santa Fe. The food and service is always top notch. Drinks are always the prickly pear ice tea. Appetizer: chips/salsa or chips and queso. meals are generally: fajitas with corn tortillas instead of wheat flour or a gluten free combination plate and my better half gets her vegetarian meal (it changes every time). We have never left Blue Corn unhappy.

Despite a too long wait to have a hostess appear (hostess stations seem to be largely decorative in Santa Fe), the waitress was attentive, quite and intelligent. She knew the ingredients of the food and could confirm what had gluten and what did not. All of our meals (two steaks, one large burger and salmon) were excellent. The atmosphere was brew pub but in a good way. Fresh beer without lots of noise. The waitress was also knowledgable about the beer and ale - especially important in a brewery.

I really like the atmosphere and service at this location so much better than the one in the plaza. It has more of a microbrew feel to it. I recommend the green chili stew !

The service and atmosphere are great. The shrimp fajitas blow...you get like two for an enormous price. Tacos and enchiladas were okay...kinda bland for an "authentic" new mexican place. We will try something else next time.

First of all let me say, I grew up working in a restaurant. My parents own one in Arizona and I know the troubles that go into it. I have worked as a waitress for a very long time, so I am very understanding of servers. I leave a generous tip and am always very polite. So, having this said, My experienced at Blue Corn Cafe & Brewery was very frustrating. The service was bad. My waitress was nice (at first) but seem to ignore and avoid my table the whole time. I waited 20min till she took my order, (again, I'm very understanding when a restaurant gets busy, you have to wait. But it wasn't), Beer took another 20mins and the past few times I've been there its been warm. Food was yummi and it came in 10min! :) Then, it went down hill from there. I drank all my water and end up drinking everyone else water because I hadn't got a refill yet. When we finished our food, and immediately we got our check. Then sat there for 30 MINUTES!!!!!! (I timed it) waiting to pay!!! There was a table sitting right next to us that came in after us and left 30 min before us (They got there check that same time we did). It seem all the tables left around us and we sat alone in the corner, waiting. Our waitress was no where to be found. She was in the kitchen for very long periods of time, and if she wasn't there, she was talking orders from her new costumers that sat down. She glanced our way several time and seem to ignore that I wanted to pay and leave (I tried to make it obvious without being annoying or rude) So, after 30min of sitting there with only two glasses of empty water at our table, I left cash and walked out. I felt very humiliated, frustrated, upset, and judge (mainly, because I'm a young adult who wasn't the cute old "wealth-looking", white couple (who she went out of her way to help). SO YES, I hate to say it, but discriminated against.) Like I said, I understand how hard it is as a waitress. But I never judge any of my customers or make them feel terrible unless they are obsessively are rude (I've had customers that made me go hide in the back and cry, and I still tried my hardest to be nice.) What I should have done was talk to the manager, but I was done at that point. That being said, I have had bad service and had some really great one too, Ive had amazing food and really bad food at times, BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IVE EVER WANTED TO GO STRAIGHT HOME AND WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT HOW AWFUL I FELT LEAVING THIS PLACE. (so went out of my way to write this and even created a account just to get let other people have a understanding about my experience at Blue Corn) Again, food was good and got there fast, but service made me feel very unwelcome.

This place is stellar. I was a little hesitant based on some other reviews but WOW! We had excellent service and our waitress was extremely attentive and made great suggestions for our lunch. I chose the grilled meatloaf that comes with loaded mashed potatoes and salad and a pint of 40k honey wheat ale. The meatloaf was out of this world. It was spicier than I had anticipated and was loaded with chile and onions and smothered in chipotle BBQ sauce and four slices of bacon. I'm not a big meat eater, but could not stop eating this amazing creation. The side salad was good, super fresh and I ordered it with the cilantro vinaigrette, which I could have drank with a straw. (that's how good it is). The loaded mashed potatoes were pretty standard, but good nonetheless. The beer was light and fresh, nothing out of the ordinary. My mom got the chicken strip and rib basket with the chipotle honey sauce and iced tea. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone-amazing, spiced to perfection. The chicken strips and accompanying fresh fries were pretty great too. The iced tea was lightly floral flavored and incredible. All in all this was a great dinner and I plan on coming back again and again.

Stopped in as it was close to our hotel and it was good. Nothing to complain about. The beer was tasty (we tried a bunch from the sampler) and the enchiladas my mom and I split were tasty. As I'm not from the area, I have nothing else to compare it to, so it was good in my opinion.

i just discovered the Onion Rings on the appetizer list - these things are delicious. service by Char is awesome, she's a great waitress (most of them are) and they have an organic brew available right now that is sweet and uniquely delicious.

Maybe a three if you want to drink your dinner. Food was bland, they were out of the first beer ordered, and a bit pricey for the food. Wouldn't go back unless someone else was paying.

My husband seemed to remember this place as having some of the best southwestern Mexican food in Santa Fe. We got there one evening and had the Shepherd's Pie, and we were both kind of caught off guard. It was just okay. It wasn't hot enough. The margarita's were great, but I think places that don't serve free chips and salsa are a little too pretentious for me.

The food was good ... the service was really lackluster. Husband had a cask-conditioned IPA that was served bathwater-warm, which would have been better a few degrees cooler. He had carne adovada that was "OK," daughter had a plain salad with grilled shrimp (big thumbs up on the shrimp), and I had green chile and bacon mac & cheese that was fantastic -- so for the food, I'd come back. However, they seem to assign servers randomly and ours was running all over the place. The first table they were going to seat us at was soooo loud (by the bar) and we asked for a quieter one ... so they sat us between a door and the service stand, even though about 8 other tables in that section were empty. We were freezing cold with the AC blasting us, and every time the patio door opened, a gust of wind blew over us (enough to blow menus off the table). We got drinks and were never offered refills - the server asked if my husband wanted another beer only after we'd been sitting over empty plates and glasses for 10 minutes. Oh - he did refill water, because when he did, the dangling leather thong on his bracelet danced across my plate and dragged through part of my salad, which was super gross. We were going to order dessert, but the waiter just brought the bill without asking if we wanted anything else. In the restaurant's defense, the waiter at the table next to us seemed to be just fine. And I am going to crave that mac and cheese.

Not so good. As for service, their sign says to wait to be seated, and I waited and waited and finally had to get someone to help me as nobody was at the greeting station. They charge $3.75 for chips and salsa, and their chips and salsa are nothing special at all in my opinion. While the charge is on the menu, I think it is exorbitant for what you get. They have some good beer. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and it was good, though a little pricey I thought for un-spectacular Mexican food. Overall this is not a bad place to eat, but a little expensive and pretty average on the Mexican food front I think. The chimichanga cost $11.75. I think that is pretty steep for what it is.

The food was terrible. They did have bendaroos for the kids to play with while waiting. It has a nice decor. I would not return because there are far better options.

This is the kind of place raved about by drinkers, not eaters. There are much better places to eat than here.

Beers were just OK, not worth returning for. The food however was very tasty. Really enjoyed the burgers and blue corn tacos. However the service was lacking. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable, but she would disappear for long stretches of time and when she did come, she got our orders wrong. After we got our food, she disappeared so we were not able to tell her "you forgot our guacamole". So our food got cold and we waited for a bit. She returned and we told her, then she disappeared AGAIN! So we simply ate our meals which were good, then after another 30 minutes, we asked her for our check. Won't go back.

I came here my first night in Santa Fe for dinner with and an introduction to my current boss, her husband and my coworkers, so my food was strongly flavored with the overpowering stench of my own fear. Regardless, I was promised the moon, the stars and back again when it came to the menu and while I wasn't overwhelmed, it was a pleasant enough experience. A sort of upscale southwestern steakhouse, my friend had some lovely chipotle corn chowder and I had a disappointingly bitter order of ABSOLUTE TERROR.

A much better version of the downtown Blue Corn. The beer is pretty good - a local favorite. The food isn't all that great, as it tries to mix brewpub with mexican gourmet and it doesn't always work out. The downtown location is a better restaurant, this is a better brewery.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
